We are all very aware of how important it is to stay healthy and sanitise everything. We also know how easily a virus or bacteria can spread from one person to the next. Two people could touch the same grocery bag, keys, or coins and spread disease.
Luckily with modern technology, it is easy to sanitise items and rooms with Ozone Sterilisers.
Ozone Sterilisers create Ozone, O₃, gas.This is effectively oxygen, O₂, with an additional atom. The oxygen atom receives another atom when a high voltage spark is present. Sometimes, we can smell ozone just after a close lightning strike. O₃ is a highly unstable gas but is also an extraordinarily strong oxidiser. In other words, it very effectively disinfects the surfaces it comes into contact with.
You would need around 20mg/m3 ozone concentration in the air for 30 minutes to thoroughly disinfect the area. If the concentration is higher or lower, the time needs to be adjusted accordingly.
O₃ is a very unstable gas and can be very harmful to humans and animals. It is a naturally occurring gas, but it should never be breathed in elevated concentrations. As we’ve said, it is an oxidiser and breaks down the cell walls – in the sensitive tissues of your lungs, it can do the same and cause serious damage.
Ozone has a very pungent smell. Open doors and windows to get airflow into the room you disinfected and air it out until the smell dissipates.
This smaller device can easily be placed inside containers to disinfect smaller items. It creates a 100mg/h Ozone and can be set to the following disinfecting times:
